Lily Wagoner Was born in China. Just like you, she is also an adoptive parent. "It has been a thrill being an educator and a learner for 28 years both in China and in the U.S. I earned a Master’s degree in Education from OSU. Now I teach first grade. Sharing the Chinese culture, language, and songs with the lovely adopted children has become a very important and enjoyable part of my life. I am very excited to have fun with your family."
Sabrina Wang - Nearly 10 years ago Sabrina's language program was founded when, Sabrina Wang, a Chinese exchange student from Beijing came to the United States to study and eventually to teach. Like your children, Sabrina has two families, one American and one Chinese. Having lived and studied in both countries for equal amounts of time she has a strong foundation in both cultures and hopes to help her students achieve this same level of cultural awareness. After nearly 10 years of teaching, Sabrina has grown her program from 7 families to the nearly 50 families it is today. One parent writes, "I am glad to have had a young, driven Chinese woman, like Sabrina, teach my children. She is a very positive role model and we are blessed to have her in our lives." -- Becky Hoover
Sabrina discovered her love of teaching when a group of parents approached her about offering classes to their children. Sabrina loves children and treasures celebrating her and her students Chinese heritage through culture and language classes.
In 2003, KCAP wanted to partner with Sabrina's Language Program so that Sabrina's students could participate in the dance and caligraphy classes offered by KCAP. Today Sabrina Language Program is very active offering not only Saturday classes but also private tutoring for advanced students, Summer Camp, and Chinese Corner where children can participate in Chinese culture activities.
Since coming to America as a wide eyed exchange student, Sabrina has graduated from college with a Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science from Otterbein College, married her American college sweetheart, achieved the position of Commercial Lines Product Manager for Ohio Mutual Insurance, and is the proud owner of two adoring puppies: Muffin and Panda (both Pekingese breed).
Sisi Wu has been teaching KCAP dancing for the past 6 years. She loves teaching dance and feels proud when the the children dance on stage. The dance classes will perform in the COFCC CNY, Asian Festival and Central Ohio China Day. Sisi is an active member and choreographer of the OSU Chinese Oriental Folk Dance Team, and has performed in lots of international culture exchange events and community events. She graduated from OSU with a Master of Science degree in Statistics, and is now working in Nationwide Financial as a Quantitative Risk Management consultant. She is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
